“I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality.”—H.A. Overstreet
“Life without sex might be safer but it would be unbearably dull. It is the sex instinct which makes women seem beautiful, which they are once in a blue moon, and men seem wise and brave, which they never are at all. Throttle it, denaturalize it, take it away, and human existence would be reduced to the prosaic, laborious, boresome, imbecile level of life in an anthill.”—Henry Louis Mencken
“Life in Lubbock, Texas, taught me two things: One is that God loves you and you’re going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the most awful, filthy thing on earth and you should save it for someone you love.”—Butch Handcock
“If there are signs that Americans bow to the gods of advertising, there are equally indications that people find the gods ridiculous. It is part of the popular culture that advertisements are silly.”—Michael Schudson
“Complexity and profundity have been equated by the academic culture just as fame and significance have been conflated by the popular culture. Fame and significance have nothing to do with one another; and complexity and profundity have nothing to do with one another.”—Dennis Prager
“Popular culture is the new Babylon, into which so much art and intellect now flow. It is our imperial sex theater, supreme temple of the western eye. We live in the age of idols. The pagan past, never dead, flames again in our mystic hierarchies of stardom.”—Camille Paglia
once, I told my grandmother that I was feeling down.
Once the one sided conversation was done, she goes “So what? Does that mean you’re gonna kill yourself?”
1. I’m not that selfish
2. If was I was, I wouldn’t have the balls to
3. That would just make other people sad
And thanks for making me feel better, granny.
Sweet heart don’t feel like that, and she remind me of my grandmother…. They out the ‘C’ in cunt. You’re not selfish you are so giving and so caring of others, I love you so much. Your like a family member to me, and again I love you.
Ahhh yes. My grandma is Hitler, after all, lol.
I love you too. You and Ziggy are like my sisters now. <3
Those of you who are my Echelon family on Twitter are the best.
You hear me out and talk with me more than my own blood.
You can’t talk about anything with them. You’re just told to stop feeling that way or thinking that way and be better.
There is no encouragement, either. Just do it.
I’m not saying I have a bad home life. I’m not beaten or molested. I’m not starved or denied basic rights. But there is an invisible expectation that runs a different vein than most other households’ expectations.
And if you don’t meet or exceed them, you are shit.
These expectations, like every other brand, do cause stress. But this stress is so much different than the kinds I hear about from you guys or my friends. I truly think its poisonous.
I have opened up to you guys more than I have to anyone in my life and I appreciate the kind words and the feeling that you are there for me.
And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for always listening and being there.
