Why is this called a “controversy” or a “debate”?
I’m so goddamned tired of hearing about the “women’s health debate” or the “women’s rights controversy” or several other phrases floating around about the GOP’s intense desire to make this upcoming election about the personal choices and health of women instead of real issues that the government should actually have a say in.
Fuck off, my right to receive affordable, accessible, safe, and necessary healthcare isn’t a “debate.” It isn’t a “controversy.” And it certainly has nothing to do with a bunch of old, ignorant, heterosexual, “christian” (I put this in quotes, because I choose to reject their brand of hatred as christian at all) men WHO WILL NEVER EVER ACTUALLY BE IN THE POSITION TO MAKE PERSONAL HEALTH CHOICES ABOUT CONTRACEPTION OR ABORTION.
My rights are not a debate, my health is not a controversy. THAT IS FUCKING ALL.
